Nemanja rowed in FA for Matija

NEMANJA VIDIC does not have an FA Cup winner’s medal — but he has played a key role in the one Matija Nastasic could pick up on Saturday.
Manchester City centre-back Nastasic asked his fellow Serb for advice when the chance to join the Etihad outfit came up last August. And even though the 20-year-old was thinking of joining United’s big rivals, Red Devils skipper Vidic gave the £12million move from Fiorentina the thumbs up.

Nastasic, who faces Wigan at Wembley, said: “I discussed things with Nemanja.

“He was very positive about City and the Premier League and his advice to me was to come here.
“Nemanja told me the tradition of the game in England would suit a young player like me and my game would develop very quickly playing in the Premier League. Everybody knows if you come to England you will improve as a player.”

Last year Nastasic was at home watching City on TV as they clinched the Premier League title in dramatic fashion on the final day.

He added: “I watched the game live on TV. Everybody was watching it.
