Nev to Phil Moyes

PHIL NEVILLE will be in the frame to fill David Moyes’ boots as Everton boss — if he does not follow him to Old Trafford.

But should chairman Bill Kenwright look outside Goodison Park, Swansea gaffer Michael Laudrup will be a leading candidate.

Neville has revealed he is leaving Everton at the end of the season after eight years on Merseyside. And if Kenwright listens to Moyes as he starts his search for a boss, Neville will come highly recommended.
Neville, 36, wants to go into management and would jump at the chance of a first job at such a high level.

The only stumbling block could be if Moyes wants him as a coach at Manchester United.

He would fit the financial bill for Everton, too, as Kenwright would not have to pay compensation to get him.
Neville already has the respect of everyone at Goodison. And Phil Jagielka, who replaced him as skipper, confessed just last week he has a big act to follow.

Yet Laudrup also has his backers after a hugely-impressive debut season as a Premier League manager.
And Wigan’s Roberto Martinez is another who would interest the Toffees.
